Dr. Marlene practiced with her father until his retirement in 2001. In 2002 she was happy to join the family practice of Dr. Neil Vanik. Dr. Marlene is involved with the Maryland State Dental Association, and president of the local chapter. Presently, she is a delegate for the MSDA and a lobbyer on Dental Day. Dr. Marlene is proud to be part of a practice where everyone, patients and staff, is treated as family.
Jane is Dr. Vanik’s assistant, and has been an integral part of our team for the last 24 years. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Maryland University College and is a Nationally Certified Dental Assistant. She thinks life is good at 1610 McGuckian Street and plans to be here as long as we’ll have her and she’s able to stand. When not at work, she prefers to be outside biking, kayaking, and swimming but also enjoys cooking, baking, sewing, handwork, and spending time with family and good friends.
Roxanne is a long-time resident of Annapolis. She started her career in Dentistry as a Dental Assistant and later earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. She was a clinical dental hygiene instructor at Baltimore City Community College and a Quality Assurance Representative for a dental insurance company. She started the Dental Assisting Program for The Center of Applied Technology South in 1994 under Anne Arundel County Public Schools where she earned her Master’s certificate in teaching. Dr. Neil Vanik and Jane Patterson actively supported the program during those 22 years as contest judges, members of the Partners and Community Committee, and conducted work interviews with the students to prepare them for the work force. Roxanne continued to work as a Dental Hygienist during school holidays and summers while she was teaching. After her retirement from the school system she was delighted to accept an offer to work with Dr. Vanik, Jane, and the rest of the staff at Dr. Vanik’s practice. She enjoys interaction with her patients and caring for their oral health. When Roxanne is not working, she enjoys socializing with friends, cooking, and traveling.

As a former birth doula and athletic director, Donna is still in the delivery business and working hard to maintain her game! It only looks a little different now. While working the front desk for Dr. Vanik, she delivers everything the office needs to make your visit with us a pleasant experience. She loves working with our staff and greeting both new and long-time patients. As a mom of four children speeding through their teen years, Donna is used to the constant activity her role at the front desk brings. When away from the office she enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with family and good friends.
As you may have guessed, Stacey and Dr. Vanik are related! Stacey has filled a supporting role for the office for the last 30 years, but has been more hands on for the past 7 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Maryland and has “worn many hats” over the years but now loves supporting our fantastic team, and especially her boss. When not filling the gap here, she loves to cook, garden, knit, quilt and spend time with family and friends. She also loves a rousing game of scrabble.
